ATHEIST FEAR MONGERING
ABOUT PROGRESS IN SCIENCE
One of atheists favorite
technique is to create anxiety in people by stressing that by
opposing evolution one is opposing science and that scientific progress will
be stifled if people end up believing that the universe was created by God.
What they conveniently fail to mention is that the greatest leaps forward in science took place
because of fervent
believers like Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo, Newton, Pasteur, Faraday, etc. Click on

"Since the teaching of
creationism in public schools has been struck down repeatedly by the U.S.
Supreme Court, it has been given this new name, with the argument that it is
not creationism because it does not specify who the “intelligent designer”
is. However the Discovery Institute, the main proponent of ID, makes it
clear that their real purpose is: “to reverse the stifling dominance of the
materialist worldview, and to replace it with a science consonant with
Christian and theistic convictions.” If they succeed, our
international leadership in scientific research and technological
development will be lost, perhaps irrevocably

But to achieve these
goals, there must be unified atheist action on a national scale.
Atheists have a powerful independent streak, and atheist organizations
must reflect this trait through freedom to develop and experiment,
